Two-factor authentication (2FA)  adds an extra layer of security to your account by requiring a verification code in addition to your password when logging in. This helps protect your account even if your password is compromised.

Effi gives you the oppurtunity to set up 2FA when creating your account, but if you bypassed verifying your mobile number then, you can still set up two-factor authentication at any time by following the steps below.

Steps to Enable Two-Factor Authentication

From the main menu, select "Account Settings."

Whether you are an Owner, Admin, or Member, 2FA will always be found in the Security Options of your Preferences page.

So once you are in your Account Settings, find "Security Options" within Preferences.

Toggle on "Two-Factor Authentication" and follow the steps to verify your phone number.

Once you verify, you'll be brought back to your settings and see 2FA enabled along with the phone number you have connected.

Additional Notes

  • After enabling two-factor authentication, you will need access to your verified mobile number to log in or make significant account changes.

  • You can disable 2FA at any time, but you will have to go through the entire process again if you decide to re-enable it.

By setting up two-factor authentication, you’re taking an important step in safeguarding your account and personal information.
